The Eurasian Strategies is a research department with the Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO). Established in 2017 it provides international political risks advisory and management consulting that meets interests of both public and corporate sectors.

Our research approach is rooted in the MGIMO school of political analysis which emerged in the 1970s in the process of preparing classified materials for the Soviet foreign policy and intelligence community.

MGIMO was founded in 1943 as core university for preparation of analysts and diplomats in the USSR. Soon MGIMO started enrolling foreign students, with its alumni joining the establishment of many countries worldwide. MGIMO Alumni Association is one of the most influential global organizations of its kind. State and corporate senior officials in different countries call MGIMO their alma mater. The University also serves as a track-two diplomatic channel between Russia and many countries, including France, Poland, Japan, and Georgia.

What distinguishes MGIMO graduates is the culture of strategic thinking. It is underpinned by pragmatism, determination and empathy. These skills are supported by profound knowledge of history, economics, culture and the language of a partner country. In total, MGIMO teaches 53 foreign languages.
