Work experience: Yan is an Associate Professor at the Department of Political Theory at the Moscow State Institute of International Relations. He also heads the Analytical Department of the Russian State Duma. In 2015-2017 he headed international think-tank "Rethinking Russia". He is also a Board Member of the Russian Political Science Association, and Acting Member of the International Political Science Association and Association's Research Committee #37.
